According to INTERPOL, Indonesia is actively working to implement a National DNA database.<ref name="ftn1"> Personal communication with INTERPOL DNA Working Group. </ref>

According to Interpol, Indonesia has adopted a national DNA database legislation and set up a DNA database that contained 11,000 reference DNA profiles from individuals, 6,000 crime scene DNA profiles, 250 missing person DNA profiles, 180 unidentified human remains DNA profiles plus 400 other DNA profiles in 2011.
