Overview

Russia adopted DNA database legislation in December 2008 which came into effect in 2010. It includes persons convicted of serious crimes and unidentified bodies. According to Interpol, Russia's DNA database contained 18,049 crime scene DNA profiles, plus 1,385 reference DNA profiles from individuals in 2011.
