Kuwait set up its DNA database in 2002. It has no specific DNA database legislation. There have been renewed calls in 2012 for expansion.
The 2008 Interpol survey reports that 393 crime scene DNA profiles and 3,958 individuals' profiles were held in Kuwait at the time of the survey.
