Jamaica's DNA database was established in 2002. New legislation was introduced in 2010 but not adopted and a revised version of the proposed law was submitted to the Jamaican Parliament in 2015.

The 2008 Interpol survey reports that 50 crime scene DNA profiles and 2,607 individuals' profiles, plus 2 unknown/deceased DNA profiles were held in Jamaica at the time of the survey.
