This page contains resources which cover more than one country or sharing of DNA profile matches between countries. Sharing of DNA profile matches within the European Union is included on the Europe page, alongside resources which cover more than one European country. There are also further international resources on the Interpol page.

The EU's Pruem data-sharing agreements have led to a series of bilateral agreements between EU countries and the United States. The Gulf States are also considering sharing DNA profile matches across borders.

  • United States and Belgium Sign Agreement to Prevent and Combat Serious Crime (20th September 2011) Belgium is the 20th country with which the United States has signed an agreement to prevent and combat serious crime. Among the other international partners who have concluded similar agreements with the United States are Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Estonia, Greece and South Korea.

  • Agreement between the Government of the United States and the Government of Ireland on Enhancing Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Crime (21st July 2011) According to the US Treaty website, this entered into force 19th October 2012. However, Ireland has not yet adopted its DNA database law.
  • Agreement between the Government of the United States and the Republic of Croatia on Enhancing Cooperation in Preventing and Combating Crime (16th February 2011) Entered into force 19th August 2011.
