The Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved on Tuesday of a significant expansion of the list of criminal offenses that the police will be allowed to order the suspect provide a DNA sample to further their investigations.
The DNA sample would only be taken from suspects of crimes related to human trafficking, murder, endangerment, sexual offenses, offenses against minors and the helpless, offenses affecting freedom, violence, damages to belongings, illicit narcotic-related offenses, removal of weaponry from IDF jurisdictions, and security-related offenses.
